Privacy policy

Effective 25 August 2026

Asset Signal (“Asset Signal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process information when you visit our website, request a demo, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with Asset Signal.

Asset Signal is currently pre-launch. This Privacy Policy applies to our public website and related pre-launch activities. It does not yet govern use of a production Asset Signal software platform by customers. If we launch additional products or services that involve materially different data practices, we will update this Privacy Policy or provide additional notices as appropriate.

By using our website or providing information to us, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in three primary ways: information you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you use our website, and information we may receive from service providers or other sources.

1.1 Information you provide to us

If you request a demo, contact us, or otherwise communicate with Asset Signal, we may collect information such as:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • company or organization;
  • job title or role;
  • information you provide in free-text fields;
  • information you provide in correspondence with us; and
  • any other information you choose to provide.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information through our demo-request form or other general website forms.

1.2 Website and analytics information

When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect limited information about your visit, including:

  • pages viewed;
  • referring website or source;
  • links, buttons, and other website elements you interact with;
  • timestamps and approximate session duration;
  • interactions with our demo-request flow;
  • browser type and version;
  • operating system;
  • device type;
  • screen or viewport information;
  • IP address;
  • approximate geographic information derived from your IP address;
  • UTM parameters and other campaign attribution information; and
  • similar technical and usage information.

We use this information to understand how visitors find and use our website, measure conversion through our demo-request funnel, identify usability problems, evaluate the effectiveness of our messaging, and improve the website.

1.3 Demo-request information and analytics

We intentionally separate the contents of our demo-request form from our general website analytics where reasonably practicable.

We do not intentionally send the contents of demo-request fields, including your name, email address, company, role, or free-text responses, to our analytics provider as analytics event properties unless we update our practices and this Privacy Policy accordingly.

We may record an event indicating that a form was started or successfully submitted without including the contents of the form.

2. How we use information

We may use information we collect to:

  • respond to demo requests and other inquiries;
  • communicate with prospective customers and partners;
  • provide information you request from us;
  • understand interest in Asset Signal and our services;
  • measure website traffic and conversion rates;
  • understand how visitors interact with our website;
  • evaluate traffic sources and marketing campaigns;
  • identify website errors, friction, and usability issues;
  • improve our website, product positioning, and services;
  • maintain and secure our website and infrastructure;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized activity;
  • maintain business and administrative records;
  • comply with applicable laws and legal obligations; and
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We may also use information for other purposes disclosed to you at the time we collect it or with your consent.

3. Analytics and PostHog

We use PostHog as a website and product analytics provider.

PostHog helps us understand how visitors interact with the Asset Signal website, including which pages are viewed, which calls to action are used, how visitors progress through the demo-request funnel, and where visitors may encounter friction.

Depending on our configuration, PostHog may process information such as:

  • page views;
  • page URLs and referring URLs;
  • interactions with website elements;
  • analytics event identifiers;
  • device and browser information;
  • IP addresses or information derived from IP addresses;
  • approximate location information;
  • campaign and referral information; and
  • similar usage information.

PostHog states that website analytics may include technical device information, IP addresses, referral URLs, viewed content, and interactions.

We use PostHog for our own analytics and product-improvement purposes. We do not use PostHog to sell your personal information or to serve third-party behavioral advertisements.

Additional information about PostHog's privacy practices is available in PostHog's privacy policy.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, or similar browser technologies in connection with website functionality and analytics.

The exact technologies used may depend on how our analytics services are configured.

These technologies may help us:

  • distinguish website visits or sessions;
  • remember limited technical information;
  • measure website usage;
  • calculate conversion and funnel metrics;
  • identify returning browsers where permitted; and
  • maintain website functionality and security.

Where applicable law requires consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will seek consent before activating those technologies.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies to track visitors across unrelated websites for behavioral advertising.

5. Session replay

Asset Signal does not currently intend to use session replay as part of its initial analytics implementation.

If we enable session replay in the future, we will configure it with the goal of minimizing collection of personal information, including masking or excluding form fields and other elements that may contain personal information where reasonably practicable.

If session replay materially changes our privacy practices, we will update this Privacy Policy before or when such functionality is introduced.

6. How we disclose information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances.

6.1 Service providers

We may provide information to vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as:

  • website hosting and content delivery;
  • analytics;
  • form processing;
  • email and communications infrastructure;
  • cloud hosting;
  • security and fraud prevention; and
  • professional services.

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide services to us and subject to their contractual and legal obligations.

Our service providers may include PostHog for analytics and other infrastructure providers used to operate our website.

6.2 Professional advisers

We may disclose information to attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, consultants, and other professional advisers where reasonably necessary for their services.

6.3 Legal requirements and protection of rights

We may disclose information if we believe doing so is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
  • enforce our agreements or policies;
  • detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity;
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of Asset Signal, our users, or others; or
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

6.4 Business transactions

If Asset Signal is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

6.5 With your direction or consent

We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or otherwise consent to the disclosure.

7. Sale and sharing of personal information

Asset Signal does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

We also do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use personal information to serve third-party targeted advertisements.

If these practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices, opt-out mechanisms, or other rights required by applicable law.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

For example, we may retain demo-request and correspondence information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • respond to your inquiry;
  • maintain our relationship with you;
  • conduct legitimate business development activities;
  • maintain business records;
  • comply with legal or regulatory requirements; and
  • establish or defend legal claims.

Website analytics information may be retained according to our analytics configuration and the retention settings of our service providers.

We may periodically delete or de-identify information that is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes.

9. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no internet transmission, storage system, or security measure is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you believe information you provided to Asset Signal has been compromised, please contact us using the information in the Contact Us section below.

10. Your privacy choices

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information.

You may contact us to request that we:

  • provide information about personal information we maintain about you;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • provide a copy of certain personal information;
  • restrict or object to certain processing; or
  • honor other privacy rights available under applicable law.

These rights may be subject to legal exceptions and verification requirements.

To make a privacy request, contact us using the information provided below.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.

11. California privacy information

California residents may have privacy rights under applicable California law.

Depending on whether Asset Signal meets applicable statutory thresholds and on the nature of our processing activities, these rights may include rights to:

  • know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected;
  • know the purposes for which personal information is used;
  • know categories of third parties to whom personal information is disclosed;
  • request deletion;
  • request correction;
  • obtain a portable copy of certain information;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and
  • limit certain uses of sensitive personal information.

Asset Signal does not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may collect categories of personal information including identifiers, internet or other electronic-network activity information, professional or employment-related information, and information you voluntarily provide to us.

If our obligations under California privacy law change as our business grows, we will update this Privacy Policy and implement any required rights mechanisms.

12. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

Some browsers and browser extensions provide privacy signals, including Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) and “Do Not Track” settings.

We do not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Because we do not currently engage in those activities, opt-out signals generally do not change how we use information for those purposes.

Where applicable law requires us to recognize a browser-based opt-out preference signal for a processing activity we conduct, we will do so as required by law.

Browser “Do Not Track” signals do not currently have a universally accepted technical or legal standard, and our website may not respond differently to such signals unless required by applicable law.

13. Visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

If you are located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, applicable data-protection law may provide you with additional rights.

Where required, our legal bases for processing personal information may include:

Consent

We may rely on your consent for certain activities, including where required for non-essential analytics technologies.

You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing conducted before withdrawal.

Legitimate interests

We may process information where necessary for our legitimate interests, including:

  • operating and improving our website;
  • understanding prospective customer interest;
  • measuring website performance;
  • securing our systems;
  • communicating with prospective customers; and
  • conducting ordinary business operations;

provided that those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Contractual necessity

Where applicable, we may process information when necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you.

Legal obligations

We may process information when required to comply with legal obligations.

Where applicable, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal information, and the right to lodge a complaint with an appropriate supervisory authority.

14. International data transfers

Asset Signal and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from those where you live.

Where required by applicable law, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information, which may include contractual safeguards or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.

15. Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for business and professional audiences and are not directed to children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address the information.

Where a higher age threshold applies under local law, we will comply with applicable requirements.

16. Third-party websites and services

Our website may contain links to websites, services, or resources operated by third parties.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy, security, or data practices.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services before providing them with personal information.

17. Communications

If you request a demo or otherwise contact us, we may use the contact information you provide to respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about Asset Signal.

We may also send relevant follow-up communications related to your inquiry or potential business relationship where permitted by applicable law.

If we introduce broader marketing email programs, we will provide appropriate unsubscribe or opt-out mechanisms.

18. De-identified and aggregated information

We may create aggregated, statistical, or de-identified information from information collected through our website.

We may use such information for purposes such as:

  • measuring website performance;
  • understanding conversion patterns;
  • evaluating product-market interest;
  • improving our products and services;
  • preparing internal analytics; and
  • conducting research and business planning.

Where information has been de-identified, we will not attempt to re-identify it except as permitted or required by applicable law.

19. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our website, products, vendors, or legal obligations change.

When we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of the policy.

If changes materially affect how we process personal information, we may provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
